SERVICES OFFERED

SCREENINGS - for common medical problems such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol.

We recommend that anyone interested in obtaining pap smears, mammography, and other women's health services first contact their local health department.

PRIMARY CARE - routine medical problems; stabilizing conditions when possible

Anyone experiencing chest pains, difficulty breathing, and other potentially life threatening problems should seek medical care at a nearby emergency department. We do NOT provide x-rays or immunizations. We do NOT provide direct dental care, except prescribing antibiotics for dental infections.

MINOR SURGERY - cryotherapy, repair of minor lacerations, mole removals, drainage of minor abscesses, wound debridement, nail removal, etc.

MEDICATION ASSISTANCE - CMM can help cover the costs of some generic medications on a limited basis.

Patients needing help with ongoing medications may qualify for patient assistance programs offered by many pharmaceutical companies. Patients can enroll in these programs through their doctor, through the Pharmacy Connection, or through one of the community health centers.

PATIENT EDUCATION - involving the patient in their own health care through education and empowerment; providing information about other outreach programs and services

COUNSELING - Christian-based counseling

LAB - On board: fingerstick glucose, urinalysis, urine pregnancy testing. Additional labs are currently performed on our uninsured patients at no charge by Spectrum Laboratories.

If outside labs are performed on insured patients, insurance information will be submitted to Spectrum Laboratories. Patients may then be accountable for a co-pay or percentage of their lab charges. Patients will also be responsible for any pathologist fees for the interpretation of tissue samples such as biopsies and pap smears.

REFERRALS - We refer patients to community health centers, health departments, mental health agencies, and social services. We can refer patients to other providers in certain instances.

Patients needing specialist care are advised to contact a community health center for primary care for potential referral to the University of Virginia (UVa) teaching hospital clinics.
